We empower our clients to thrive in their own lives and to reach their full potential. To do this, we provide individuals, parents, families, and caregivers with goal-oriented action plans, supported by innovative intervention, education, and dedication to the science of Speech Language Pathology and the art of caring.
A message from Ora’lea Starr, M.A. CCC-SLP
As a young mother, I became particularly interested in the study of language when my 3-year-old twin boys began using a “secret language” between themselves while also mastering the “common language” used by everyone else. I was fascinated by their communication and their ability to “switch” languages at will. This led me to the field of Speech-Language Pathology and the study of human communication disorders. I received my Master of Arts degree from the Communication Sciences and Disorders Program at Eastern Michigan University and became certified to practice by the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association. I am licensed by the states of Hawai’i and California and enjoy working with a diverse group of clients.
Our team has collectively lived and worked on Maui intermittently since 1983. With more than 28 years of comprehensive service, Speech Therapy Services of Maui is a professional SLP group with an eye for innovation. Brimming with passion and creative fire, we are also ethical, kind, and compassionate, and we seek to operate with the utmost integrity. We have built a solid foundation of allies, colleagues, and supporters across the island and beyond. We are passionate about making Maui a better place by creating novel experiences and opportunities that inspire hope, enhance lives, and bring joy.
Speech Therapy Services of Maui is in-network with Medicare, Kaiser, HMSA, HMAA, HWMG, UHA, and more. We also accept private pay clients.
